The use of the Recreate Website at recreatesa.com is subject to the following Terms and Conditions:

  1. Ownership & Copyright
    1. The contents of the Recreate website, including, but not limited to, all information, text, data, photographs, illustrations, other graphics, trade names, logos, designs, trademarks and service marks which are displayed on or incorporated in this website, are protected by law, including, but not limited to, copyright and trademark law. The website content is the property of Recreate.
    2. Any use, distribution or reproduction of the website content is prohibited, unless expressly authorised by Recreate, in terms of these Terms and Conditions or otherwise provided for in law. To obtain permissions for the commercial use of any website content contact Recreate via email at alex@recreate.za.net.
  2. Recreate Products
    1. Recreate prides itself in offering the best quality repurposed products to customers. While great care is taken to restore and repair old items, the handmade and unique nature of Recreate products results in variations within product ranges.
    2. Recreate products are created from individually sourced pre-owned items and are not mass produced factory products. Wear and tear, often in the form of age appropriate rust, scratches and marks, are to be expected, appreciated and cherished. By purchasing Recreate products, the buyer agrees to respect that they are not purchasing a mass produced new item, and understand that this wear and tear is not due to a damaged or faulty product.
    3. As each of the Recreate products are individually created, the buyer acknowledges that when making a purchase the actual product received may not always be identical to the images of the product on the website. Variations in shape, size, colour, condition and finish may occur.
    4. If the buyer would like to see an image of the exact product they will be receiving prior to their purchase, they should bypass ordering online and email their order enquiry to katie@recreate.za.net so that it can be processed manually.
  3. Payment
    1. The prices displayed on the Recreate website are quoted in ZAR (South African Rand). Recreate is not a VAT registered entity, and therefore all prices exclude VAT.
    2. Prices are liable to change at any time without prior notice.
    3. Payment on our website is operated by PayFast – a secure, third party online payment service. PayFast is a South African payment gateway that accepts both Visa and Mastercard credit cards nationally and internationally.
    4. If the buyer should prefer, they can EFT Recreate directly and should send proof of payment to katie@recreate.za.net.
  4. Deliveries
    1. Recreate offers delivery via:
      1. Courier – Delivery directly to the buyers home or office, anywhere in South Africa. All delivery and tracking details are supplied to the buyer at checkout.
      2. Self Collection – The buyer may choose to collect from the Recreate Cape Town Studio in Woodstock. View address, directions and opening hours.
    2. The delivery cost of a parcel depends on the parcel’s weight and dimensions as well as the area of delivery. The price is calculated according to the tariffs set by Recreate’s courier company. Recreate delivery charges are subject to change at any time, without prior notice to the buyer. The buyer can see the applicable delivery charges on the website in their cart when they check out.
    3. If the goods are in stock, Recreate will deliver to the buyer within seven working days.
    4. Should the goods not be in stock, Recreate will notify the buyer via email about the current lead times and delivery period. The buyer will then have the option of cancelling the order or confirming it and accepting the new delivery period.
    5. When placing an order, the buyer is accountable for providing the correct shipping address, telephone number and email address. These details are of the utmost importance as they allow Recreate to contact the relevant person in the unlikely event of the courier having difficulty with delivery. Recreate will not be held responsible if the delivery is delayed or lost due to the information provided by the buyer being false or incorrect. The courier company will attempt to deliver an order three times before it is returned to Recreate. A return to sender scenario will incur new shipping charges.
    6. The delivery price does not include insurance on the products. If the buyer would like to inquire about insurance, they should contact Recreate via email on katie@recreate.za.net before placing an order so that Recreate may customise the buyer’s shipping options and delivery costs.


    Returns & Exchanges Policy

    By purchasing from Recreate the buyer acknowledges that they are purchasing a repurposed unique product and not a mass produced new item. Therefore a reasonable amount of age appropriate wear and tear is not only to be expected, but also enjoyed and appreciated!
    It is important to us that each and every one of our products reaches a happy home to a happy, satisfied customer.

  5. Returns Policy
    1. Recreate will gladly refund a returnable product if said product fails to meet the buyer’s expectations on the following conditions:
      1. Recreate has been notified within seven days of the products delivery.
      2. The product has not been installed
      3. The product is still in its original condition
      4. The product is not a custom order.
      5. Refund will occur once the item has been returned.
    2. Should the buyer choose to make a return, Recreate is not liable for any additional shipping costs and the buyer should be aware that the initial shipping charges are non-refundable.
    3. If Recreate has made a mistake or the buyer receives an item that is damaged and/or defective, Recreate will return and replace the product at no additional cost to the buyer.

    A return/exchange or refund may be issued for any damaged or unwanted products if they meet the below conditions:

    1. The items are in their original packaging and condition:
      Recreate asks the buyer to save all cartons, packing materials and the damaged or unwanted items so that Recreate may investigate the issue further. Recreate will assist in arranging the best way to return the item as soon as the buyer requests.
    2. The items are unused and undamaged (unless damages have occurred during transport).

    Items not accepted for returns:

    1. Damaged/used items.
    2. Products that have been ordered with custom specifications.
    3. International orders.

    How to request a return/exchange or refund
    For all returns/ exchanges or refunds please send an email to katie@recreate.za.net with an explanation of damages and a picture clearly showing the damaged item.

    1. The buyer should notify Recreate within 24 hours of receiving the order of any damages that may have been caused during transport.
    2. The buyer should notify Recreate within seven days if they are unsatisfied with the product.
  6. Refund/Exchange or Credit Policy
    Once Recreate receives and assesses the returned order, we will contact the buyer to select one of the following options:

    1. REFUND: A full refund, or part thereof, can be issued. Whenever possible, refunds for returned items will be given in the manner in which they were purchased (i.e. credit card, Payfast, EFT or cash). Refunds for items shipped back to Recreate will be processed at the end of the respective month in which it is returned.
    2. EXCHANGE: It is possible to exchange the returned item for a different item. Should there be a monetary difference between the two orders, Recreate will either refund the difference or provide a credit for future orders.
    3. CREDIT: A credit may be issued if the buyer wishes to use this for future orders.
  7. Order Exchanges & Cancellations
    1. Should the buyer wish to make any changes to their order, these changed must be communicated within one business day of the purchase order. This includes cancellation requests, product modifications, and quantity adjustment.
  8. Wholesale
    1. Recreate is able to accommodate small quantity orders for the retail and wholesale markets.
  9. Custom Orders
    1. Recreate is able to create individual products for clients that incorporate the buyer’s own items.
    2. A deposit of 60% is required for all custom made orders with the balance of the purchase price payable on completion.
    3. Lead time for custom made orders is approximately 10 – 12 weeks from date of receipt of signed order or deposit received, whichever is the later.
    4. Recreate is not liable for any damage to, loss or theft of the client’s own items/ products while they are in the Recreate studio.
    5. Should an item not be collected within 30 days of notice, Recreate reserves the right to sell the item to offset any costs.
  10. International Orders and Deliveries
    1. Recreate is currently unable to process international orders via the online store. In order to receive an international shipping quote, the buyer should contact Recreate via email at katie@recreate.za.net and provide a full shipping address, phone number, products and quantity they would like to order. Recreate will make every effort to send the buyer the best quote.
    2. International shipping quotes are quoted in ZAR (South African Rands) and include professional crating, fumigation and shipping charges, but exclude customs charges, insurance costs, taxes and duties, quarantine charges, storage charges, and any other unforeseen expenses imposed by customs, the shipping and handling agents or any other parties.
    3. Recreate can not be held accountable for any costs incurred due to delays resulting from incomplete or incorrect documentation or the absence of specific documents required for a specific country.
    4. The price of products and any other amounts quoted are subject to change without prior notice due to currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, etc.
    5. Should transit times be provided, these are intended to be a guideline only and are always subject to, inter alia, customs release delays, the availability of space and any other unforeseen factors.
  11. Limitation of liability
    1. Recreate cannot be held liable for any inaccurate information published on the Website and/or any incorrect prices displayed on the Website, save where such liability arises from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Recreate, its employees, agents or authorised representatives.
